The Taurids get a dark window this weekend, with the Moon only half-lit and away from Taurus. The best time to watch is around midnight, when Taurus climbs high into the southern sky. The photo above is a Taurid fireball photographed on November 9, 2015. The Southern Taurids peak around November 4-5 and the Northern Taurids around November 12, at about five meteors an hour under ideal conditions.
