Orionid peak brings 15-18 meteors an hour

The Orionid peak brings 15 to 18 meteors an hour between 2 AM and dawn, after the Moon sets.

Astronomy's sky guide for tonight (https://www.astronomy.com/observing/the-sky-today-tuesday-october-20-2026/) puts the hours that count between 2 AM and dawn, after the Moon sets, with Orion's radiant riding highest above the southern horizon. Cast your gaze 40-60 degrees to either side of Betelgeuse, just northeast of the red giant, for the meteors with the longest trains.
